Unexpected Blessings

Have you ever felt like things were going horribly wrong, only to realize later it was a blessing?

I have had times when the final outcome just didn’t make sense.  This seems to be especially true when I have worked really hard for something to be a success.  Only to find out later that all that effort wasn’t going to alter the outcome.

I have tried to change situations

by effort and determination  While others agendas and actions have made my goal impossible no matter how much effort I put forth.

I have learned you can’t help people if they don’t want to be helped.  You can’t want more or try to give them more if they don’t want it.  Some people are happier with less.

They won’t necessarily want an education or a better paying job.  They may not want better living conditions or more love in their life, but will settle for less.  Ultimately it is their choice.

You can’t give more to people who don’t want more.

So the blessing comes from no longer feeling responsible for or wasting time on someone that doesn’t want to change.  It isn’t a goal that is attainable.
